A Presentation by:
Janet Uchacz-Hart (Executive Director) & Megan Unrau (Program Coordinator) from the Saskatoon Industry Education Council
Janet Uchacz-Hart started out as a secondary business and career education teacher before assuming the Executive Director position with the Saskatoon Industry Education Council for the past 23 years. Through a partnership among business, K-12 and post-secondary schools, unique hands-on career exploration events and programs are designed to connect youth with current and future workforce needs. Last year the SIEC worked with over 63,000 youth, 4,800 educators and 650 business/post-secondary reps in over 40 programs and events. Janet consults with national, provincial and regional organizations with a focus on workforce development, connecting youth to career pathways.
Megan has been with the Saskatoon Industry Education Council for 9 years in the role of Program Coordinator. Megan facilitates programs including the Skills Bootcamp program, Safety @ Work and the Saskatchewan Youth Internship Program. With a background in Youth Care, she has worked with Saskatoon and area youth for over 15 years in various Community Based Organizations and Government. Her focus is on skill development and career exploration in addition to connecting and creating meaningful opportunities for Saskatchewan’s future workforce.
